As I'm sitting down to write, I can feel this message is going to be a difficult one for me to parse out. The energy around the feelings I've been experiencing have been nagging at me for several weeks, if not months. And now the "winds of change" are brewing as I'm literally being surrounded by 50 mph winds!
I've been distancing myself more and more from the word "spiritual," even though it is the crux of my mission and day-to-day work. Spirituality means: "Relating or affecting the human spirit or soul." Innocuous, right? How can you not buy into what affects our human spirit? Theoretically this means everyone is spiritual, not just those who have self-titled themselves as such.
If you are reading this, then chances are you know that my mission in life is to bring awareness to unity consciousness~what's good for you is good for all, we are all one~ but lately I'm finding myself tired. Not tired working with clients, not at all! They are my JOY! But tired with the way humans are finding satisfaction in criticizing and correcting each other, missing the point that what you do to others...well you know, ye olde Golden Rule?
Freedom of speech, our First Amendment here in the U.S., is designed to protect our right to express ourselves. Important? You bet. But we've completely obliterated unity consciousness in our quest to have the last word, or prove ourselves right, or feel better about our decisions, or exercise our right to "free speech," saying anything and everything that comes to mind often while hiding behind a computer screen.
Can you state your stance on a topic? Of course! But unity consciousness (what we do to one we do to all) is obliterated when we attack others for their beliefs or actions, especially on social media.
Will I support you if you are making a tough decision, say around abortion, end-of-life or whether to get vaccinated? Absolutely. Will I agree with you? Maybe, maybe not. But will I bash you or a stranger publicly for struggling with the decision and choosing what feels right? NEVER. I would never call you any of the thousands of names we are calling each other right now publicly, because I feel the repercussions of that name calling, and I see the emotional and mental effects it has on humanity.
Check the suicide rates.
And to my dismay, the spiritual and religious folks are often the public name-calling culprits, the finger-pointers and the decision-bashers. All these posts of sending "love and light and prayers" and then thoughtless meme sharing or criticism of the "sheeples" or the "unsaved" in the next moment...
I've even removed the word spiritual from my work title because I feel so alienated by the divisiveness.
It's chipping away at me, at us, body, mind & soul.
If someone's decision~individual or collective, like the government let's say~ causes you to get fired up to take action, real action that helps humanity, then go for it. Join the cause! Fight the good fight! But if it includes embarrassing, demeaning, de-humanizing, criticizing or condemning someone publicly,
Please stop. The emotional and mental health of those people matters.
We can't afford to lose little bits of our emotional soul any longer.
I'm always here to help and support you during your decision making and emotionally difficult times, but in the meantime, I'm going to log out of social media and find and focus on the causes that remain true to my heart...
For the good of the human spirit.
Live in love. Please.
Carrie, with a lot of Spiritual guidance!
