I sat by the water's edge, gazing at the stream traveling on its path from here to forever. I was absorbed by the sound the water made as it flowed over the rocks, and then I was given this metaphor:
The pebbles that are submerged in the stream are the incidents in life- joyful and challenging, minuscule and life-altering, incidents. And the water is God, washing over all of them.
Then I noticed the larger stones, the ones half-submerged. I realized they're us, half in the open air- the earthly world- and the other half "sitting in God."
I laid down in the stream and let the water wash over me, ending my morning meditation.
Our souls are each a tiny little piece of God experiencing life. We are "sitting in God" whether we acknowledge it or not, whether we act on it or not, whether we believe it or not.
Each of our souls' light joins to become humanity's light, and humanity's light joins to become God, incarnate on Earth.
This has nothing to do with any religion or church. This is simply about faith.
Faith in yourself, faith in humanity and by default, faith in God.
Do you criticize yourself endlessly? Are you "your own worst enemy?" Have you lost touch with who you are, caught up in the day-to-day illusion of life?
We Are All One. You've heard that before, I am sure. But it needs to be said again, because we are losing faith in ourselves. And once we've lost faith in ourselves, we've lost faith in humanity. And if we've lost faith in humanity, then we've lost faith in God.
"They" can try to take away healthcare, education, medical services. "They" can change the way we do business. "They" can try to operate any way "they" want.
But "they" cannot take away faith in ourselves, faith in humanity, or faith in God.
Unless we let them.
"We" unite us. And "we" can keep us together, in the stream.
If you've lost faith in yourself, lie down in the stream and let the water wash over you. And remember:
The pebbles are submerged in the water, and you're sitting in God.
Live in Love,
Are you one of the 10 million people watching, and loving, this new TV show?
I wake up with the theme, message and/or metaphor in my head and heart when it's time to blog.
Today it was This Is Us.
Have you noticed the sheer number of topics covered each week that focus on acceptance? Divorce, ethnicity, race, adoption, death, abandonment, sexual orientation, body image, wealth, poverty, addictions? And somehow, through it all, the characters find and demonstrate acceptance.
I know, I know, TV is a fantasy world, right? But what if WE took our cue from this fantasy? I mean, we do it all the time, don't we? Often emulating and revering our pop, film, sports and even the "15 minutes of fame" news stars?
What if we adopted the notion that "this is US" and not "this is US against THEM?" Drop the blame that everything is "their" fault?
What if we all realized that we are in this game together, and the sooner that we all accept each other for who we are, what we love, and what we believe the easier life will flow?
There is no right or wrong, only what YOU believe, love and trust. I, for one, am not going to tell you what you believe is wrong because I certainly wouldn't want you to tell me that what I believe is wrong.
So I'll accept what you believe as your truth and will continue to live mine.
Because This Is Us. I find no surprise that this "fantasy" show arrived when it did, and zero coincidence that us = U.S.
Live in Love,
Carrie, with a lot of Spiritual guidance!
