![]() "Be Happy." A phrase that we've been throwing around for decades. What does it really mean? Is anyone actually happy? First, realize that the phrase is "be happy," not "do happy." So happiness requires a certain state of being, not doing. Now, getting to the "being happy" may require some "doing," as in reducing work hours or telling your boss that pressures need to change or ending a relationship. But ultimately, the state of happiness comes from being. Being you, being authentic to what you believe and feel, being the person "you used to be." Being peaceful, being in the moment, being courageous, being of service to others. Not happy? Fix it. That's all there is to it. If someone says to me, "There's nothing I can do," then I would say that they are comfortable in their state of unhappiness and are choosing the easy way out. Arriving at your "happy place" may take some work. It may hurt people's feelings. But remember, everyone has a choice in every given moment. They can choose to have their feelings hurt, or they can decide there is growth in the experience for themselves and find their happiness as well. If you've been reading my blog, you know that I often use the term, "Live in Love." What does that really mean? For me, it means being happy. Being content with every moment of life and allowing that to shine to others. Letting them SEE that peace. If you aren't experiencing this for the majority of your day, Fix it. We need you to walk through this world happy, content, courageous and at peace. I'm creating lots of changes for myself right now, "fixing it" if you will, and I'm embracing them because change means new adventures and opportunities. Create some change for yourself and grab the excitement! BE HAPPY! Live in Love, Carrie Here's my latest article in Style magazine in case you missed it, and NO that photo is not of me, I haven't changed THAT much! http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/d440a0b9#/d440a0b9/42
