![]() Someone just asked me what we can do to eradicate fear in society...Isn't that the million dollar question? I love it, though! I love these discussions and questions. I love throwing out there another way to look at life. And I love hearing about how people are making a difference in the world. Take a moment to ponder how often fear rules the day in society: Fear of disease/accidents/trauma. Fear of any government taking/losing control. Fear of a group "winning" or "losing." Fear of not being heard. Fear of not having enough. Fear of war (which is a result of all these other fears)... The list goes on and on. (Incidentally, we, collectively, have not evolved out of survival mode despite rumors to the contrary. Had we, we wouldn't be having this discussion). What can we do about this systemic, fear-based society we have created? (Yep, WE created this, just so we can uncreate it. Apparently we love a good challenge). First, don't worry about what's going on "out there." All of this change starts with us. Take a look at where you hold fear: Around your family? Illness? Money? Future? Then take a look at whether those situations are real (meaning you actually have facts to substantiate your fear), or if they're imagined (future possibilities that you have no evidence for). Now focus only on those instances of fear that are "real." Picture them resolving themselves. Call upon others to come to the rescue and co-create with you. Imagine a plethora of opportunities as doors in front of you and choosing one (you don't have to necessarily know what's behind the door). Feel the solution. Feel the ease. Feel the relief. These positive feelings are your creative tools, just like fear is. Remember, we create everything we live, and we co-create these situations with others. Create the solutions, it's just as easy as creating the problems. We were just never taught how to do it. Imagine everyone doing this. Imagine everyone, individually, taking hold of their fears, real and imagined, and creating solutions. (Remember, a solution may simply involve releasing the fear). Imagine all of our corporate strongholds, government officials, and world power-holders releasing fear around winning/losing, control, lack or obedience. We'd be living in a much different world. It's possible, and it starts within each of us. Next time you are in a confrontational situation, ask the person what their fear is and identify yours. That's changing the world. It's the solstice...a natural time of change. Who's ready to be a world-changer? I know I am. Let's do this! Live in love, Carrie

"The Shift," "The Evolution of Consciousness," "The Awakening," and a thousand other names we've given for that nebulous place we're headed...But after my Reiki class last night, I'm certain as to where I'd like to see our future:
I'd like to see every human being enjoying what's right in front of us: Nature, the kindness and generosity of humans, clean water, stress-free living, hospitality, the ocean, health... Right now, that's not happening. Those that "have" haven't fully figured out how to empower those that "have not" yet (and I'm not pinning this on the 1%. This is for all of us that have any modicum of "have.") Step one: Eliminate the lack mentality. There is enough for everyone. There always was and always will be. Step two: Make a difference today, no matter how small. We can't wait around for the news media or healthcare system or government to change. All we can do is follow our conscience as those structures unravel. But I'm asking you, in some small way, to create a moment of "heaven on earth" for someone else today. Focus on the difference you can make, not trying to convince others of the difference they can make. We'll all be glad you did. ![]() "Energy healing." So many questions! Over the last 20+ years of offering and teaching Reiki, I've heard them all: Is it for real? What does it mean? How is it possible? And this one has been popping up a lot lately: Is it Christian? Here's my perspective: 1) Yes, it is "real." Everything is real (and not), at the same time. We create our reality...everything we see and everything that happens to us is our creation. What you see as real, I may not. Hard to believe? I know. Why in the world would we create half the things humanity is experiencing, right? Here's why: We have been trained, or have learned, that when we create trauma, we bring out the best in ourselves. Think about it. The ravaging weather conditions, the mental health issues or the latest government antics...they all have a purpose in helping us decide what is best for us individually and as a society and then we choose what we are going to do about it. Trauma brings out the best in us. We donate resources, manpower, time, our voices. It's time to allow the best in us to show up without the preceding trauma. 2) What does it mean? Everything is energy. Everything is made up of bouncing, vibrating atoms. These vibrations are what we operate from, whether or not you sense them or realize it. Emotions are the strongest and most powerful vibrations, from the lowest (fear) to the highest (love). Colors are vibrations, sound is vibration. Nature is vibration. News media? Vibration. We feel these vibrations, respond and act according to what we feel or sense. If we are surrounded by and internalize lower vibrations, we will respond accordingly. Likewise with higher vibrations. Think about it, don't you feel better in nature or by the ocean or around funny, light-hearted people? Those are the higher vibrations. 3) How is Reiki possible? A Reiki practitioner can concentrate the higher vibrating energy that is flowing all around us and direct it for you to use for your highest good, whatever that looks like: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual balance, a renewed sense of purpose, connection to life...the list goes on. Ask someone who has truly experienced Reiki and they'll fill you in. No one really knows "how it happens," but we learn to trust the process because we see the results time and time again. 4) Lastly, is it Christian? I've been seeing a lot on the internet lately about this. Reiki is not tied to any specific religion, so you don't have to worry about it interfering with your belief system. Here's my take on the root of this question: "Healing only comes from God. No one else can claim to heal." Reiki masters and practitioners don't heal. We are facilitators for your decision to heal. That's it. We are doing God's work on Earth (we all are, whether you realize it or not. Smiling at someone at the grocery store is doing "God's work"). That's why humanity was created~to experience heaven on earth (we botched that up pretty well though, didn't we?) Here's a little secret around this: YOU decide your healing path. And if you want to join with God's energy to do so, so be it. If you don't, that's your choice as well. A Reiki practitioner isn't going to decide that for you. Our job is to clear out the gunk to allow the options to come forward, it's up to you to choose the path. Is it with God? Super! Is it with Buddha, "the universe," Spirit, Source, nature, your deceased grandma? Wonderful! It doesn't matter. Those are all higher-energy partners to help us create heaven on earth. Or it can be none of those, simply the desire to make the world a better place. That's ok too, just allow. The world needs a little bit more energy healing, don't you think? Join us! Want to be a part of the solution? I am not currently seeing clients (because my focus is now collaborative and not 1:1), but do have a full schedule of Reiki classes. I'd love for everyone to experience and learn Reiki and carry it into their day-to-day lives. Click "events" to see my class schedule. Live in love, Carrie |
