We often spend a lot of time considering investing: investing in the stock market, in retirement plans, in savings accounts, in health insurance...the list goes on and on. But when was the last time you invested in yourself?
I'm not talking about buying the latest designer handbag or a Caribbean cruise (although getting away IS necessary)! I'm talking simpler; about investing in your long-term balance...ditching anxiety, fears, rollercoaster feelings, uncertainties about the future...THAT list can go on and on as well! Wouldn't you love to find permanent peace and let all of that go? The time has come my friends. Politically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally. To act with loving-kindness to your self. Spend some time and money on your well-being. Buy that self-help book. Take that class. Make an appointment with a practitioner you've always wanted to see. Carve out quiet time. Make a lunch date with friends. Taking care of you is never, EVER selfish. That is a myth. If you are balanced- if you are your brightest and best- your emotional vibration soars and you will lift everyone up around you. YOU CAN HEAL THE WORLD BY HEALING YOURSELF. It's the Law of Attraction and it works. Believe me, I see it everyday. Can't you feel that it's time? Invest in yourself. Live in love, Carrie www.carriebeleno.com www.belenocenter.com

One of my Facebook friends just posted an event of random kindness that occurred to her today, so I thought it was about time I shared my pretty amazing event as well...let's share the love, right?
A couple of weeks ago I hosted a mini angel card reading event at the Beleno Spiritual Healing Center. It was a Saturday morning event, and while I was seeing clients, some of the practitioners (and a guest or two) were sitting around the waiting room chatting about their spiritual journeys, the changes they saw in themselves and where they thought change should happen on a global, social scale...you get the picture...all things positive and transformational. We finished up the angel event, said goodbye, and I headed upstairs with my final client of the day. After she left, I retrieved the air conditioner from the second floor that needed to go home with me. Now, I've done my fair share of remodeling labor, so I was not afraid to carry down the appliance, even though it weighed way more than I expected! I imagine I probably looked slightly ridiculous. I took it out onto the porch, set it on the step, and went back inside to gather my things to go home. Next thing I knew, there was a loud banging on the outer door. A young man (well, young to me, maybe 27?) stood grinning from ear to ear asking me what my intention was with the air conditioner. Thinking he wanted to purchase it or ask if I was disposing of it, I said that it needed to go to my car. He said, "I know! I'm here to help you carry it. Where are we going?" He picked it up off my step and asked where my car was parked. I pointed and we headed across Broad street. And here's what he continued with: "I was driving by and I saw that you needed help. So I parked at the gas station and walked down so I could carry that for you." DRIVING BY? Ok, so take a moment and think about all the times you've driven past someone, wondering if they might need help...or hoping AAA was called...or watching them struggle and wish there was someone to help them....did you ever STOP? Let alone pull over two blocks away, walk down the street and knock on a door? If you have, then God bless you! If you haven't, let this be a lesson on random acts of kindness. A lesson for me as well. I said to this man (who, not gonna lie, resembled Jesus), "You're an angel." He said nothing, grinned his ear-to-ear grin and waved as he sauntered up the street. I didn't watch whether he went into the gas station parking lot or not, or whether he simply vanished. When I retold the story to the group that was emitting the positive vibes that day in the waiting room, we came up with three scenarios: 1. That the energy coming from the Center was so magnetic that he couldn't help but stop (yep, ladies you KNOW you are magnetic!) 2. That he was really intent on helping his fellow man (or woman) and looked for ways to express random acts of kindness, or 3. I'll leave this one up to your imagination...remember, we just completed a three hour angel event... May you attract all things wonderful in your lives...and look for those random acts of kindness.
