Like many of you, I read this book about 10 years ago. My mom gave it to me, and it was powerful! It added to my experience in understanding that God IS accessible.
I never would have imagined this book, 10 years later, would make such an impact on me, in a very real way.
Sheri and I attended a holistic expo this past weekend~she offered Reiki and I offered spiritual guidance along with my "Chaos to Calm" and "Following Your Intuition" workshops. While I was leading a workshop, three women signed up for 1:1 sessions. A nice surprise when I returned to my table!
Little did I know the surprise that actually awaited me.
When the first woman arrived, she was so excited! Our conversation went something like this:
She: "I was so excited to see that you were here after I read about you in The Shack last night!"
Me (in disbelief): "Um, what? You read about me in The Shack last night?"
She: "Yes! The author mentioned you and The Night Yoda Phoned as an inspiration in the author's notes! Didn't you know that?"
Sheri looked at me dumbfounded, confused as to why I never shared this very important fact with her.
Me: "I didn't know that and YOU'RE KIDDING?"
She: "No, I picked up the book at the airport and finished reading it last night and there you were. And when I saw that you were here today I just KNEW I had to meet you!"
We proceeded with the 1:1 session, which was quite magical, but I could not wait for the day to end so I could run to a bookstore and look for myself. She promised me she would text me the page as soon as she returned home, but I didn't want to wait that long!
Sheri and I stopped at a Walmart and read the final 20 pages of the book to find: NOTHING. Not a word about me. The reprint had occurred in 2016, so the possibility certainly existed that my book could have been mentioned, but it wasn't.
We knew we had to wait for her text, so we stopped at the local Panera to grab dinner before starting our 3+ hour drive home. Guess who was at Panera?
Yep, it was the woman with The Shack. She tells me again that she knows what she read, otherwise she wouldn't have been so excited to see me at the expo. And promised she'd text me the page.
So we waited. Two hours later the text came:
"I cannot find any reference to your book in the author's notes in The Shack. I think Spirit intended for us to meet today for I know what I saw last night!"
My conclusion: Our spiritual teams: God, our loved ones, angels and guides, will go to any length (including easily manipulating time, space and matter) to make sure we are connected to those we need to be here on earth, but we must follow our intuition, our divine navigation system, in order to see the magic unfold.
One final note: Her last name is Gabriel. Coincidence? I think not. Gabriel is the archangel of writers. No coincidence that the The Shack was the book of choice for a divine message, either.
Watch for the magic. It DOES exist, I promise you. And, as always,
Live in Love.
I now offer Skype spiritual guidance and Intuitive Reiki sessions to help you connect with your magic.
