I have some news for you. This is good news for a change! You won't believe it at first, but bear with me. I'm about to shatter a myth that we have all subscribed to at one point or another. It is particularly important news for the workplace. Shattering this myth will allow a feeling of freedom that you may never have experienced...
Ready for it?
There is no "us against them."
It's a myth, a myth of mythical proportions, created by US. (US as in "you and I", not US as in the United States, just in case you thought I forgot the periods.)
But of course it's "us against them," you say! It's government against the little people. It's believers (name your belief) against non-believers! It's Republicans against Democrats! It's war! War against drugs! War against cancer! War against taxes! War against terrorism!
Exhausted yet? I know I am.
Everything that appears to be at odds with what you believe is here on purpose, and WE put it here.
We as in individuals, but also WE as the collective. And it's here for one reason only:
To help us declare who we are and what we love.
When you ponder taxes, or war, or drugs, or the government, do you fully and completely FEEL and identify what you love?
I do. I know I'd love a world without drug conflict or war, where I pay my fair share of taxes that are reasonable, that contribute to whatever we need as a society to be productive, healthy and secure. I know I'd love our new government to make smart decisions from their hearts that benefit us all.
Mission accomplished. The "us against them" mentality mission is complete.
Now to move forward. One of the places to start is in the workplace:
Business leaders and models, lead from your heart. Tell your employees that there is no lack, that's there's plenty of time, resources, money, connections. Fake it until it becomes your truth if you have to. Take them, and yourself, out of the pressure cooker. After all, that's what you want the government to do with us, right?
The collective needs to get the ball rolling.
Lead with your heart. What feels right: morally, economically, physically, emotionally?
Be the change you want to see in the world. Bust the myth wide open.
It's time. We're ALL here for the same reason.
Live in love,
